If you need service, or maintenance on any Nakamura Tome WT 300 machine, Contact Us today.
Hi, I’m Kevin with Precision Service, working on a Nakamura-Tome WT-30 or WT-300. The machine is filthy, and we’re still disassembling it, but we’re making progress. We’ve got bolt turrets and other parts pulled apart, with motors and components ready for cleaning. The key is organization: we take hundreds of photos—more than you think you’ll need—and label everything carefully using punch sets to mark parts. This saves tons of time during reassembly. I can’t imagine doing this without cameras like they did back in the day! We still need to remove the upper X and Y axes and the sub-spindle base. To make it easier, we’re using an overhead gantry, but I’m switching it to a horizontal setup with come-alongs to brace the system. This lets us slide the bed out from underneath without disturbing too much, keeping parts intact for easier cleaning and reassembly. We’ll keep documenting with photos for safety and efficiency. I’ll share more videos once we’ve got it fully apart and the bed removed using the aluminum gantry. Thanks for watching! |
