STUDER S33 GRINDER REBUILD PART 03

We’re continuing work on the studio OD grinder. Over the past few days, we scraped the swivel table, checking for perfect contact by identifying the two turning points. Next, we surface-grind the top for a smooth finish. Then, we’ll set it up on the way grinder to ensure the chewed-up surface is perfectly level, with the indicator showing zero movement across it.

This precision is critical for aligning the tailstock and work head, eliminating issues from wear or repositioning. The bed still needs work, but we’re delayed by other jobs. I’ll provide an update soon. Thanks!
