If you need service, or maintenance on a Poreba or American Pacemaker lathe – Contact Us today.
In this video, I wanted to update you on the apron from your TR Poreba lathe and the tailstock from your American Pacemaker — both arrived safely. The apron is in rough shape, heavily rusted, so I’ll be tearing it down and doing a full inspection. I’ll film another video tomorrow to show you what we find and go over the parts we’ll need. Luckily, we’ve got a local shop that can help source parts. For the tailstock, we need to figure out the missing lock mechanism — it should run on a cam, but it’s not there, so I’ll probably check with Belmont Machinery for advice. This apron is a rush job, so we’re moving quickly on it. I’ve already got someone scheduled to start the teardown tomorrow morning, and I’ve prepped some dummy shafts to test internal function. We’ll also inspect the tailstock quill, check its fit on the bed ways, and see if we need to shim anything to fix the centerline issue. Once that’s done, I’ll send you a full parts list and keep you updated with the next video. |
