It’s been a while since my last update, but we’ve been making progress on the machine. It still looks the same because most of our recent work has been electrical. We’ve solved most of the issues, but we’re waiting for the factory to confirm the serial number so they can send us the control book. Once we get it, we’ll load the stroke distances for each axis, set the home positions, and finally show how everything works. A Fanuc technician was here for another job and helped us out with this machine. We replaced all the fans on the drives since it’s easier to do that while everything is open. He also noticed the motor cabling had slightly lower resistance, which is still within tolerance but on the low side. To be safe, I ordered new cables and we’ll install them tomorrow. We also found some spliced wires and jumpers inside and outside the machine that we’re replacing completely. Right now, everything powers on and functions, though there were a lot of alarms to work through one by one. Once we get the final procedure from Methods, we’ll finish setup and call for a service visit to help move the machine while it’s still open. The covers and wipers are all ready to go—we even made a new back plate piece that fits properly now. There was no real issue there after all. Once we have the stroke data entered and the home positions set, I’ll record another video showing how it all runs. It might be noisy, so I’ll probably need a mic. Progress has been slow because electrical work takes time, but everything’s moving in the right direction. If anyone has questions or insights, especially about the procedure we’re missing, let me know. Once that’s sorted, we’ll be good to go. |
