Hey everyone, here’s an update on the project. Apologies for the delay in videos—I’ve been tied up. We’re currently working on the upper X and Y axis slide, focusing on fitting the X axis now, as the Y axis is already complete. The technician is gluing the Turcite on the X axis slide, and once that’s done, all other slides will be finished. However, the machine bed isn’t back yet due to some issues with twist during grinding. I’m expecting an update on Monday. We’ve completed another slide with Turcite and prepared it for binders and gibs, which are also finished. The next step is fitting the components to the bedways, including the sub-spindle and lower axis slide, which had significant damage and still needs gib work. Once the bed arrives, we’ll fit all slides to it and ensure proper alignment. On the parts front, I received two ball screws, with three more arriving from the factory on Monday and another shortly after. Bearings, seals, wipers, and Turcite components are expected later this week or next. Most of the scraping for the axes is done, but we still need to fit everything to the bedway and verify alignment. We’re on track overall, and I’ll provide another update soon. We have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, so I’ll keep you posted. Feel free to call if you have any questions. Thanks for your patience! |
