I wanted to give you an update on the Nakamura-Tome WT-300 rebuild. We had to skip a few steps in showing the indicator process because I was out of town, and we were also swapping out the chucks. That said, the rebuild is moving along. Right now, we’re installing the main covers that connect to the electrical system. We found a couple of broken brackets where the way covers attach, so we’ll weld those off the machine. The way covers were sent out for rebuilding, but some of the mounting pieces didn’t look quite right, so we’re taking care of that as well. Todd figured out the issue with the chucks. Some parts were missing from the shipment that are needed to adapt to your setup. He’s ordered what we need, and once it all arrives, we can move forward with installing them. Two guys are currently working on the machine, and I’ll probably bring Brad in next week to help with the cover installation. The alignment is basically done, but we’ll still need to cut a test bar to verify everything. We’ll cut with one turret, mic it, then do the same with the second turret just to confirm that everything lines up perfectly. We might also do it both ways (cut and mic from each turret) to fully validate the setup. Methods will likely help with programming, and we’ll also run a laser check. As long as everything mics within a tenth, we’re good. The electrical cabinet has just been cleaned so far, and once we power the machine on, we’ll be able to fully test everything. We’re making steady progress—slowly installing parts as needed. If you have any questions or want me to check something specific, feel free to give me a call. |
