Hi, everyone. I’m working on a riser from your machine, which I mentioned needs grinding on both the top and bottom. Let me show you why. In this corner, we’re at plus one thousandth, zero here, and on the backside, it’s plus two and a half thousandths. We’ll take a minimal amount off to preserve the zero reference annotation for your part. Then, we’ll flip it over and match-grind to ensure the riser sits perfectly flush.

This job will be completed tomorrow. It’s not critical, but since we’re doing extensive work, we want all surfaces perfectly flat. I’ll share another video tomorrow to show the finished riser before returning it.

I also made dummy blocks to replicate your bedway for the Z-axis and X-axis bottom. I had to purchase these blocks since I didn’t have the right size, but there’s no cost to you. I’ll keep them for future use. We’ll grind these blocks to precise dimensions on my G&L grinder, ensuring they’re perfectly zeroed and square. These will help us accurately mimic your bedways when gluing the bronze plates to the X-axis bottom. I’ll stop here and show the other part in the next video. Thanks!
