If you need service, or maintenance on the RYAZAN MACHINE TOOL REBUILD – PART 7 –  Contact Us today.

Hey, everyone, I wanted to share this video to show you what was delivered to us. We received the attachment that fits under the gib, along with the gib screw, which sits flush against this surface. This bracket bolts into place here, so we have all those components. The issue is that there seems to be something missing to capture the screw against the surface and the back calf, as you can see in the video. Maybe there’s a sleeve or similar piece we’re lacking—check the print I’ve got up here; it hints at something like that on this side too. If you can locate it in your shop, that’d be great. If not, we’ll assume and fabricate it ourselves.

For now, I’ll add a temporary piece to lock it in place and keep the project moving, since the gib screw can’t come out with the fixed bracket pushing and pulling. I need something to apply pressure against the gib screw and the table. If you find the right part, perfect—otherwise, we’ll make do with our solution, though it won’t be to exact specs. We’re also progressing on the gibs; we ground off about 30 to 38 thousandths here and need to scrape them in next. The binders under this surface are first, then the gibs will be scraped last. The Daiken blue is just for testing the screws, so that’s not finalized yet. I’ll update you further. Please call if you have questions—thanks!
