Kevin from Precision Service here, working on a compound slide. We’ve ground the top to ensure it’s flat and parallel, marked all surfaces, and will apply turcite. We removed 8.5 thousandths from the bottom and 20 thousandths overall, planning to add 32 thousandths and scrape a bit to align the tool post cutting edge back to zero. The screw is being processed, expected back next week, and we’ll likely add new bushings to each axis. Tomorrow, we’ll order new lubrication meters for reliability. Stay tuned for the next video! |
